MipTV 2025 London will kick off with a ceremony to open the event on February 23 in 2025.
MipTV London 2025 UK is designed to be a complimentary event in conjunction with London Screenings and will target smaller companies from around the world who wish to increase their connections with international executives who will be in attendance at the event. In contrast to the previous and traditional Mip shows, Mip London will be more an event for networking and development rather than an exhibition event.
MipTV is a festival that has been taking place within Cannes in the year 1963. But, over the years the event has struggled with declining attendance and increasing rivalry from events, such as Content London and the French television Festival Series Mania. The organisers have disclosed that the most recent edition of 2024 was one of the few in the past.
MipTV 2024 had 3500 attendees which included 1,100 buyers, less than the 5000+ people who attended in 2023. The organisers, RX France, to move MipTV 2025 to London. Lucy Smith, the RX Entertainment Division Director, has revealed that the new show will include meetings, screenings and networking, instead of exhibitions.
MipTV London 2025 could occur during the same week as the 2025 London Screenings for TV. It hopes to take advantage of its popularity at London Screenings, which has become the most viewed small-screen event in Europe.
